Emma's Story

I remember back when my sister first got accepted to Ravenwood School of the Magical Arts. I was only eleven then. There was an old man with a talking bird that randomly popped in our dining room during dinner that night. He said he had been watching her in his crystal ball for some time and thought that she had great potential for becoming a powerful wizard. I thought it was a bit creepy and all, but my parents were proud and Miss Elizabeth Sparklebreeze left and went to a boarding school on a different world for the first time ever... which I would hope for the first time. I never remembered her going to different WORLD before.

She would come back after semesters when she was on break and tell of these marvelous stories (sarcasm intended) of experiences she had. She had loved becoming a Thaumaturge and spending time in her classes and all around Wizard City. She had gotten to study abroud for weeks at a time in worlds called Krokatopia, Marleybone, Grizzleheim, Mooshu, and Dragonspyre. She said she had lived in her dorm for around 6 months and then moved into a Wooded Cottage. Stayed there for a year and then moved again into some sort of giant igloo. Which she called an Ice House.

The thing is... I never believed her.

Then one day while she was home visiting. It was the night after we went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 that something like Deja Vu happened. We were eating dinner, Liz home (in her weird clothes of course) when the same old man popped in our dining room just like he had 3 years prior.

This time he was watching me while he spoke. Trying to avoid his gaze, I ate my watermelon slowly watching the juice on my plate slowly make its way toward my burger. Finally, he announced that he wanted... no NEEDED me to attend Ravenwood School of the Magical Arts.

My response was "No, I'm not going to turn into my sister. Magic is her thing. Not mine."

"But you have the potential to save Wizard City. Of course your sister must have told you of the dark times we're in?" the old man responded.

I looked at Lizzy. She was doing the same thing I did to observe the old man's gaze. Huh, must run in the family.

"No sir, she didn't."

"Elizabeth, you're one of our top students. How would you fail to mention that to you're family?" He said.

"I-I didn't want to worry them Headmaster Ambrose."

"Well you can't keep such information from them... Emma, please would you reconsider it? Wizard City needs you. Your sister needs you. And if this doesn't stop soon, your family will need you to save them. All of the spiral could be in peril."

....The what?

"Fine, but as of now, I'm not happy about it."

That is how I, Emma Sparklebreeze, came to Ravenwood School of Magical Arts.
